1953 Buick Skylark Convertible, Restored

The 50th Anniversary for Buick. 1953, was a Significant Celebratory and Landmark Year for Buick for many reasons. It introduced its Infamous 322 cubic inch, 200hp."Nailhead" V8 replacing the Venerable straight-8 that dated to 1931, Buick also introduced the 12 Volt Electrical System for the first time in 1953. However, for Buicks Biggest Splash, they introduced their Spectacular SKYLARK. It's Limited Production, (1,690), Extensively Hand Built Convertible. GMs Most Popular Hit of the 1953 Motorama Show, beginning at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

For Buick's Golden Anniversary, The 1953 Skylark was based on the Top of The Line
Roadmaster. With the addition of Exclusive Design, Refinements and Hand Modifications, the
Intent was an Entirely New Look that made it into the Outrageous Sports Convertible it is. At
4,315 pounds It's not going to compete with Corvette, But with its GM 4" Factory Chopped Windshield, cut down windows and Convertible Top, Gorgeous Scalloped Side Lines, Doors and Quarters, etc. It unquestionably accomplished a Unique Lower, Sleeker, Fantastic Look that Stands Alone.

As Roadmaster as its base, All Skylarks Came with Virtually Every Option as Standard Equipment;
Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, Power Top and Power Antenna.
Selectronic Radio, Etc. The Only options available were Buick's Famous Dynaflow Automatic
